The Process
To help you better understand my process, here's a rough overview of how I approach web design...

01. Discover First, I listen to you. What makes your situation unique? Making your website successful is dependent on clear communication and a deep understanding of your situation. I pay attention to what your users will need, what information you want to collect and what you want to accomplish with your site. Another, sometimes overlooked aspect is researching your competitors... a process that I take very seriously not only in design but in SEO research. |

02. Plan Planning is the best way to ensure that we'll meet all of your important business goals. Studying your technical and content constraints, I'll help you prioritize your goals into an actionable roadmap. A well thought out plan will drive the design process to the next level. This is also the stage when you can provide me with your opinions on color schemes, layouts, etc. |

03. Invent This is when solutions come out and you get to critique my ideas. This stage is to help shine a light on new and fresh solutions as we narrow the conceptual design; the best answers may not have always been right in front of us. My creations will leverage the strengths of your business. At this point I will send you graphic mock-ups of your site for review. |

Take a few minutes to breathe. We always need to stop and smell the roses. If you have any interest in creating a website in Flash or HTML just contact me for details. Or, another suggestion would be to play some Mini Golf. |

04. Define "If the specifications aren't clear, the design doesn't exist." At this stage, even the simplest web site concepts need to be refined and re-defined. New thoughts may emerge and it's always great to keep the possibilities open. At this stage we will agree on the final mock-ups to be used for the actual site. |

05. Build This is when you get to sit back and relax. I'll start coding and bring the beautiful website to you.

06. Test I test all of my sites, in a separate testing environment, for quality assurance before they are launched on the internet. You'll have a chance to surf your site just like a user would so there's no guess work about the final product you'll receive. Once you approve the final site, I'll complete the remaining stages and prepare for site launch. |

07. Launch/ Grow Now your site is live on the internet. It may not be the best idea to implement every strategy you want on your site right away. It is usually best to perform A/B testing and add additional features once we've established a solid foundation. I am always excited to help manage and grow your site. |
